In 2009 Lulu received the Grand Prize award for "Smuckers and Jiff" Essay Competition for her entry. The Grand Prize included $3,000.00 worth of Scholastic Books for the school of Lulu's choice and was given to Myrtle Tate Elementary School in Las Vegas Nevada, where Lulu had done youth programs for 2 years through "Reading is Fundamental" as a children's author of her book "The Marvelous Moo Sisters". Lulu also received another $3,000.00 worth of Scholastic books which she has been distributing to the alternative schools where she does her work with "at risk" youth.

"The Marvelous Moo Sisters" Lulu's childrens book is available at "The Tillamook Dairy" Tillamook Oregon, "Cousins" restaurant/gift shop The Dalles Oregon, and "Cousins" restaurant/gift shop Pasco Washington. Lulu is available as a visiting author to your elementary schools and her workshop includes copies of her books.
